YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!

As we start the new year in 2010, we should consider what we are putting into our bodies and whether it is optimal for our health.

I read Fast Food Nation back in 2002. When the book first came out, it exposed the extent of how the fast food industry had changed the whole landscape in America for food production and helped to launch the movement towards healthier eating, even all these years later, it is still worth reading.

I watched the movie Food Inc last night, an excellent documentary about the industrialisation of food and the negative results to human health and the environment. This movie has reconfirmed the importance of organic and free range food choices and I recommend a viewing. The companion book is also worth a read.
