REX TSO- BOXING TRAINING (PART 1)

I have joined Team Rex Tso as Strength and Conditioning coach for a mid-July fight in Macau!

I am honoured to have joined the training team for Rex Tso for an upcoming fight. Rex is Hong Kong’s only professional boxer.

Rex and his boxing trainer Jake Verano have amongst the best attitudes to training that I have come across. It is a privilege to work with such committed professionals.

Boxing is a complex sport of energy systems, and attacking and defending movements. It carries its own set of muscle imbalances.

We use video analysis extensively to help teach and record progress. What is most important is that myself, Jake and Rex are part of the programme design so that we can make Rex’s weakness strong, and make his strengths stronger.

I employ multi modalities where appropriate. For instance, the TRX Rip Trainer helps with offensive and defensive mechanics and conditioning.

I conduct detailed assessments on mobility and flexibility, the goal being to translate improved movement into punching fluidity and better reach.

This is a highly challenging project for me and I aim to work hard to deliver quality programming to Rex’s training.
