After spending 6 days at TRX HQ in San Francisco learning the new TRX Functional Training workshop, I returned to Hong Kong to deliver the FIRST EVER TRX Functional Training course!
This course is multi-modality training. It’s not a single modality certification, it’s a coaching certification to help people move better and perform better.
For my own workouts and personal training sessions for clients, the multi-modality approach is something I find great value in. You can see examples of my multi-modality workouts for GPP (General Physical Preparation) here and here, or my workout to train a specific movement here.
For sports-specific training, you can incorporate multi-modality circuits in an intelligent and creative way, such as for this field hockey workout or this Dragon Boat paddling circuit.
What I like to do is to set one day aside each week as my “Multi Modality Day” (in my case, it is Wednesdays). This is the day that I will incorporate different equipment into my workouts. Training in this way keeps exercises fresh and challenging, helps me learn new skills, and expands my movement periphery.
We had some very enthusiastic and experienced trainers attending the Hong Kong workshop.
Congratulations to one of the first groups of students in the world to undergo the new training!
