EVOLUTION OF MY RUNNING SHOES

This picture shows the evolution of my running shoes since 2007!

Back to the future of fitness?

I have alternated between using cushioning and minimalist shoes to find out if the barefoot trend was a fad or is here to stay.

I was an adamant heel striker until I read Christopher McDougall’s Born to Run which is a fascinating and fun read. I promptly bought my first pair of Vibram Five Fingers. However, I sat on the fence until I took a course in Trigger Point Therapy and gained better understanding of myofascial releasing techniques.

“The longer your foot stays on the ground, the more injuries you will have and the slower you will be.”

I now wear the minimalist shoe at work and for middle distance runs, and wear the cushioning and stability shoes for longer trail runs and ultra marathons.
