General Fitness for over 40’s

“Enjoy regular and varied exercise”

I have developed a general movement and fitness curriculum based on the movements of life – squat, twist, bend/hing, push, pull, lunge and gait. I call it the Range of Active Movement (ROAM) method it follows the principles below. (There is a recommended safe and physiological progression order with some options based on your condition, ability and equipment availability that you can discuss with me.)

1. Corrective exercise is based on an injury, movement and flexibility assessment, scientific programme design and progressive coaching.

2. Functional fitness is developed thereafter and aims to expand your capacity across a spectrum of movement modalities and abilities.

3. Sport-specific conditioning helps prevent injuries and enhances the movement skills and energy systems required for the sport.

I coach in three progressive phases to keep exercise safe and appropriate to physiological condition and linear and conjugate periodisation.

  1. Help you increase your pain free range of movement.
  2. Increase your functional range of active movement and cardio vascular conditioning.
    • we progress from bodyweight to other modalities to keep the exercises consistent, fresh and with just the right amount of challenge.
  3. Aim to get into a peak state for life or for a specific sporting event.

The ROAM Method Curriculum coming soon!
