I completed the Racing The Planet– 4 Deserts Sahara Race 2009- in 45th place, with a time of 48.25!
I picked up my new 2XU compression gear that I will be wearing for the Sahara Race ultra marathon in 2 weeks’ time. I rate 2XU gear very highly and I believe using this compression gear will aid my recovery during the race. I clocked a sub-2 hour 20km run, 34km in 6 hours while and another 2 hour run this week for training, not long to go now. Can’t wait…

The Seagods Dragon Boat paddling team were crowned Stanley Cup winners in Hong Kong for 2009, repeating their victory from 2005! I am very proud to be involved with this amazing squad!
This video shows a paddle-specific functional circuit designed for Seagods, the mixed Dragon Boat racing team in Hong Kong! The circuit utilises a range of different equipment- the TRX suspension trainer, powerbags, powerballs, medicine balls, and more for Dragon Boat specific training. This circuit can be used for other paddle-powered craft such as outriggers.
Paul Chek’s teachings have been a major source of inspiration, knowledge and learning for me. His book “How To Eat, Move and Be Healthy!“ is an excellent introduction to movement and nutrition.
The body was designed to squat, twist, bend, push, pull, lunge, walk, run and jump. These are the dominant movement patterns that we see in everyday life and in sports. I have developed whole series of exercises based around these “Life Movement” patterns to help you achieve “Functional Fitness”.
I hope to share with you on this Blog my approach to “Functional Fitness”. With the resurgence of interest in bodyweight training / callisthenics, better understanding of the importance of movement and mobility, and the increasing popularity of exercise routines like MMA and CrossFit WODs, the fitness industry is talking more and more about the benefits of functional fitness training.
